Proposal Writer/Researcher, AI/ML

The Proposal Writer/Researcher (Machine Learning) is a long-term, full-time, independent contractor position for a skilled, curious, and accurate writer with a science or engineering background. You must be capable of balancing many different priorities to support our Business Development and Engineering teams which are distributed across the country.
Responsibilities:
Researching new technologies and how they relate to AI/ML
Researching and incorporating the latest academic progress on specific AI/ML technologies into proposals.
Writing a variety of AI/ML grant proposals in discussion and alignment with our ML Engineering teams.
Working on time-sensitive bids & proposals (for the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Energy, NASA, etc.)
Authoring narrative reports for ongoing contracts and projects
Preparing commercial revenue estimates, discovering comparables, and conducting market research.
Applicant Requirements:
Prior experience writing private or government-sponsored proposals for education or industry
Strong ability to conduct independent research on a variety of ML/AI technologies into proposals
5 years + technical writing experience, and/or proposal writing experience, or other significant writing experience
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (science/engineering preferred); PhDs welcomed
Interest in learning about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Proven ability to work independently while meeting regular deadlines with a high quality of work
Able to conduct independent research and prepare comprehensive proposals (sometimes including a comprehensive Statement of Work, milestone schedules, slideshows, single-page pitches, technical proposals up to 50 pages in length, etc.)
